Last year, Tadej Pogačar was the winner again. The Slovenian all-rounder not only took the pink jersey, but also convincingly won the maglia azzurra, the blue jersey of the mountain classification. Behind him, Giulio Pellizzari and Georg Steinhauser finished in second and third place. But in 2025, Pogačar will not be there - which means that the battle for the mountain classification is wide open.

From 9 May, when the Giro starts in Albania, the climbers can prepare for a long hunt for mountain points. The harder and higher the climb, the more points can be earned. Most points are reserved for the Cima Coppi - the highest point of the Giro - traditionally a decisive moment in this battle. This year, the prize is on the Colle delle Finestre (2178 metres high).
