Strade Bianche 2025 - Prediction

Saturday March 8th 2025: Siena - Siena (213 km) 

On Saturday 8 March 2025, the Strade Bianche will be run over a brand new course of 213 kilometres, with 81.7 kilometers on unpaved roads. The Tuscan classic is known for it's white gravel roads (sterrati) and steep climbs, and this year an extra gravel track has been added.

The sixteen sectors determine the course of the race, with the first ones at 14 kilometers into the race. The longest stretch, 11.9 kilometres, follows the passage through Montalcino and is almost directly followed by a technically demanding section of 8 kilometers with several hilly kilometers. Halfway through the course is a new sterrato of 9.3 kilometers, followed by the difficult San Martino in Grania (9.5 km), which ends on a steep climb.

The last 50 kilometers are characterized by a series of short, explosive strokes. The climbs from Colle Pinzuto (2.4 km, max. 15%) and the hill to Le Tolfe (1.1 km, max. 18%) are crucial in the finale. After the last gravel road, there are still 12 kilometers to go at uneven asphalt in the direction of Siena, where attackers are repulsed by the curved road.

The race is often decided at the Via Santa Caterina, where the narrow streets in the last 500 meters rise with an average of 12% and a peak of 16%. From the last bend in the town they run down to the Piazza del Campo, where the finish line is one of the most characteristic spots in procycling.
