Giro 2024 - Prediction stage 9

Sunday May 12th 2024: Avezzano - Napoli (214 km) 

Who will be taking victory in stage 9 of the Giro 2024, according to the computer? In the final stage ahead of a well-deserved rest day on Monday, the peloton will cover 214 kilometres from Avezzano to Napoli. The route's profile leans towards a finish with a big group of strong sprinters, but the following three factors can be slight complications: 1) a big part of stage 9 will be raced along the coast where gusty wind can play a role, 2) the last 30 kilometres aren't entirely flat - climbing legs will be tested, and 3) about 3 km before the finish line, the riders will approach three complicated turns after a descend. Finally, there's a classic U turn at about 1 km before the finish line, which requires some great positioning. Chaos guaranteed! The sprinter('s team) who can handle this best, will be celebrating their victory in the harbour of Napoli.
