Sunday April 6th: Brugge - Oudenaarde (268.8 km)
Ronde van Vlaanderen 2025 is a race of 268.8 kilometers, containing 16 hills and 7 cobbled-sectors. The start is in Bruges, but the real spectacle begins in the last 55 kilometers, when the riders race through a barrage of hills towards the Paterberg and then to the finish in Oudenaarde.
After a flat approach, the first cobblestones appear in Doorn (109 km), followed by the first climb: the Oude Kwaremont. The race really gets going after the Eikenberg, with the Wolvenberg and a series of difficult sections towards the Molenberg and Paddestraat.
The final kicks off with the Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg at 55 km from the finish. Then the Koppenberg, Mariaborrestraat, Steenbeekdries, Stationsberg and the Taaienberg follow in quick succession. The decisive blow often falls on the last passage of the Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg, where the steep sections form the perfect backdrop for an attack.
Last year Mathieu van der Poel struck on the Koppenberg (45 km from the finish) and soloed to his third victory. A fourth victory would make him the absolute king of Flanders' Finest.
