Sunday April 26th 2026: Liège-Bastogne-Liège Femmes - Bastogne - Liège (156 km)

Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes 2026 remains the most selective of the Ardennes Classics, with a route that rewards climbing strength, and tactical timing. From Bastogne to Liège, the course builds gradually, favouring the best classic riders and clmbers.

The opening phase is typically controlled, with breakaways allowed limited space. The race intensifies after the midpoint as the peloton approaches the key climbs. The Côte de Mont-le-Soie and Côte de Wanne begin to wear the field down, before the Côte de La Redoute (1.6 km at around 9%) provides the first real selection, where the strongest riders test eachother.

From there, the race becomes increasingly tactical. The Côte des Forges and especially the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons offer decisive opportunities to attack. Positioned relatively close to the finish, Roche-aux-Faucons is often the launchpad for a winning move, either splitting the group or allowing a solo rider to emerge.

Unlike La Flèche Wallonne, the finish in Liège is flat, which broadens the range of possible outcomes. A late solo can succeed if cooperation behind breaks down, while a reduced group sprint remains a likely scenario if several contenders crest the final climb together.

The most probable outcome is a select group forming after Roche-aux-Faucons, with the victory decided either by a late attack or a sprint among the strongest of the day.
