Giro d'Italia 2025 - Prediction stage 4

Tuesday May 13th 2025: Stage 4 - Alberobello - Lecce (187km, sprint)
After three days of racing in Albania, the peloton will cross over to Italy on Tuesday 13 May, where a virtually flat stage of 187 kilometres is on the programme. The riders will cross the entire heel of the boot, on their way to what will almost certainly be the first mass sprint of this Giro.
The sprinters have had a tough time so far: time trials and hills have given them few opportunities to show their worth. That will change in this fourth stage, because from Alberobello to Lecce the terrain is finally in their favour. The fast men will be eager to convert their frustration of the past few days into pure speed, and the sprint trains will undoubtedly pull out all the stops for victory.
Alberobello was the first finish location in the Giro in 2022, when Caleb Ewan won the sprint there. Lecce has welcomed a peloton at top speed before, with big names such as Alessandro Petacchi and Mario Cipollini on the list of winners.
Although there is an unremarkable fourth category climb early in the stage and a local lap in Lecce, nothing seems to stand in the way of a mass sprint. Everything points to the sprinters finally getting their chance between Alberobello and Lecce.
