Saturday May 30th – Giro d’Italia 2026 stage 20: Pordenone → Piancavallo (178 km)

Stage 20 is the final mountain stage of the Giro and the last opportunity for general classification riders to make a difference. The stage opens with a long flat run across Friuli, with no significant elevation changes.

After roughly eighty kilometres the riders face the first climb of the day: 6.8 kilometres at an average gradient of 5.6%. This ascent is steady and serves as the transition toward the decisive part of the stage.

The finale features two ascents of Piancavallo. The climb measures 14.5 kilometres at 7.8%, with several kilometres above eight percent. The first passage creates selection, followed by a short descent and a valley loop before the decisive second ascent.

The second climb of Piancavallo follows the same profile. The steepest gradients appear in the middle section, while the final kilometres are more regular. The finish is located at the ski station at the summit.

From the base of the final climb the road rises continuously. This stage can still produce changes in the general classification.
