Friday May 29th – Giro d’Italia 2026 stage 19: Selva di Cadore → Alleghe (Piani di Pezzè, 151 km)

Stage 19 is a demanding Dolomite stage featuring six climbs between Selva di Cadore and Alleghe. The route contains almost no flat terrain and begins uphill immediately.

The first ascent is the Passo Duran, 12.1 kilometres at an average gradient of 8.1%. The climb is steep and consistent. A descent leads into the climb to Coi, 5.8 kilometres at 9.4%, a short but very steep ascent.

After Coi the route continues toward the Forcella Staulanza, 6.3 kilometres at 6.7%. This climb is more regular in profile. The descent brings the race toward Selva di Cadore and the approach to the hardest climb of the day.

The Passo Giau measures 9.8 kilometres at 9.3% and serves as the Cima Coppi of this Giro. The ascent is steep from start to finish. A long descent follows toward the base of the Passo Falzarego.

The Passo Falzarego is 10.1 kilometres at 5.4%. The gradient is steady and forms the final long ascent before the finale. After the descent the riders reach the foot of the last climb.

The final climb to Piani di Pezzè is 5.0 kilometres at an average of 9.7%. The steepest gradients appear in the opening kilometres, after which the profile becomes slightly more regular. The road rises continuously to the finish above Alleghe.

From the base of the final climb there are no flat sections. The sequence of six ascents makes this stage decisive for the general classification.
