Wednesday 7 October 2026: European Championships time trial women – Šenčur – Šenčur (22.1 km)
The elite women ride the European time trial championship on Wednesday 7 October 2026 over a single lap of 22.1 kilometres in and around Šenčur. The course has 367 metres of climbing according to the organisation, while ProCyclingStats puts it at 391. It is the same loop as in the road races and in the men's time trial, with a maximum gradient of 15.8%. The first rider starts at 14:30, and 25 riders from 17 countries are on the start list, with eight countries having two riders at the start. At roughly 17 metres of climbing per kilometre, it is a fast time trial with one decisive climb.
Route
The first kilometres from Šenčur are largely flat. The road then rises gradually to a short climb near Olševek. In Tupaliče, after a sharp right-hand bend, the road heads uphill to the Možjanca, the hardest climb of the loop. The first intermediate point is at the foot of the climb, and the second follows shortly before the descent.
After the summit comes a narrow, undulating road to Štefanja Vas. The route then descends technically to the lower station of the cable car to Krvavec. A narrow valley leads at high speed to Cerklje na Gorenjskem. The last 7 kilometres run flat to the finish in Šenčur. The riders start at one-minute intervals, with the start schedule running from 14:30 to 14:54. The defending champion starts last.

Local
Šenčur is a municipality in the Gorenjska region, near Kranj, with more than 3,000 inhabitants. Nika Bobnar is the only Slovenian starter on the start list. Last Saturday's road race was decided on the same loop: Demi Vollering won solo after an attack on the second ascent of the Možjanca.
Scenarios
The time trial specialists are the focus. The flat opening kilometres and the last 7 kilometres reward power and pacing. The climb is an important factor.
