In 2023, the Giro d'Italia will be raced for the 106th time. Starting with an Individual Time Trial in Fossacesia, ending with the 21st stage in Rome. One thing that stands out is the number of Individual Time Trial-kilometers: 70+ kms in 3 ITTs. The last one (stage 20) is a difficult one ending with a very steep climb to Monte Lussari. Next to 3 Time Trials there are many possible sprint-stages (9) and 6 mountain-top finishes. What is left are only few opportunities for break-away riders.
