Thursday May 28th – Giro d’Italia 2026 stage 18: Fai della Paganella → Pieve di Soligo (171 km)

Stage 18 is a hilly route from Fai della Paganella to Pieve di Soligo. The neutralised start takes place on the plateau, while the flag drops in Mezzolombardo. From there the race follows the Adige Valley downstream toward Trento.

Just after Trento the riders tackle the longest climb of the day: 4.9 kilometres at 6.2% to Civezzano. This ascent does not award KOM points. A rolling section follows, with short climbs and descents.

Around the halfway point lies the categorised climb to Fastro, 3.2 kilometres at 3.9%. The terrain remains undulating afterwards, without major ascents.

In the finale the riders face the climb to Combài, 1.9 kilometres at 6.2%. The key point of the stage follows shortly after: the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, 1.1 kilometres at an average of 12.3%, with the summit 9.3 kilometres from the finish. A descent leads into a mostly flat run-in to Pieve di Soligo.

The combination of rolling terrain and a steep wall in the final kilometres opens the door to multiple outcomes, from a late attack to a reduced-group sprint.
